F1 British Grand Prix: Session start times, standings and how to watch

Lewis Hamilton is optimistic that Mercedes can put a dent in Max Verstappen’s potential stroll to the 2022 world title, 12 months after their dramatic first-lap clash at this circuit.

There is plenty of home interest for the hundreds of thousands piling down the A43 with George Russell and Lando Norris also hoping for good results, plus the British-born Thai racer Alex Albon.

Here are all the details ahead of the weekend…

When is the F1 British Grand Prix?

The British Grand Prix takes place this weekend, with the race set for Sunday, July 3, 2022.

The track action gets underway on Friday with first practice at 1pm BST before second practice at 4pm.

On Saturday, third practice is scheduled for 12pm and qualifying gets underway at 3pm.

Race day is Sunday with lights out in the books for 3pm.

How can I watch the F1 British Grand Prix?

Free-to-air TV: Channel 4 will be airing full the full race on terrestrial television, with coverage beginning at 1.30pm.

Satellite TV channel: The race will be shown live on Sky Sports F1 and Main Event, with coverage also beginning at 1.30pm.

Live stream: Sky Sports subscribers can also tune in online via the Sky Go app. All4 will also show the race live for free.
