Arsenal and Tottenham have already done the majority of their summer business but Chelsea look set for a flurry of big deals. The likes of Marc Cucurella, Denzel Dumfries and Frenkie de Jong are the latest potential signings being discussed.
Chelsea are reportedly in direct talks with Barcelona for De Jong and are hopeful of striking a deal, while the Blues have submitted a fresh bid for Brighton’s Cucurella worth more than £50million. Cesar Casadei is a major target for Chelsea, while Jamie Vardy is linked with a surprise move. In a shock £20m deal, the club confirmed an agreement for Aston Villa wonderkid Carney Chukwuemeka last night.
In north London, the Gunners are expected to make a bid for Foxes midfielder Youri Tielemans, while the club are set to loan Hale End wonderkid Charlie Patino to Blackpool. Lucas Paqueta and Cody Gakpo are also still on Mikel Arteta’s shortlist. Tottenham, meanwhile, are linked with Zaniolo’s Roma team-mate, though could turn to Adama Traore if that does not come off. Man United consider Dest move
Manchester United are interested in a move for full-back Sergino Dest.
Barcelona are keen to offload some players this summer, as they look to fund a number of signings, and Sport claim that the club would be willing to accept a bid of €20m for Dest.
The 21-year-old played under Erik ten Hag at Ajax, so it’s no surprise to see United keeping tabs on the situation.
Tottenham back in for Zaniolo
Tottenham are prepared to make a new attempt to sign Nicolo Zaniolo.
La Repubblica report that Spurs are refusing to give up on the Roma man, despite a valuation in the region of €60m.
It’s claimed that Tottenham were willing to include Japhet Tanganga and Tanguy Ndombele in a potential deal, but Jose Mourinho rejected this and asked for Oliver Skipp instead. Spurs do not want to include Skipp though.
Ramsdale given No1 shirt
Aaron Ramsdale will wear the No1 shirt for Arsenal after the goalkeeper was given a new squad number ahead of the Premier League season getting underway.
Bernd Leno previously had the number, despite being back-up to Ramsdale, but with the German’s move to Fulham now confirmed, that has been freed up.
The Gunners have wasted little time in announcing the change, with Ramsale moving from his previous number 32.
Chelsea set price for defensive duo
Chelsea are believed to want €25m from Barcelona for Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta.
The La LIga side want to bring both of the defenders to Spain this summer, but according to Sport are currently unwilling to pay more than €10m for either of them.
With Chelsea now pushing to sign Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona, a deal could be reached that suits both parties.

West Ham give up on Kostic
West Ham have reportedly decided to end their pursuit of Filip Kostic.
David Moyes had been keen to sign the Frankfurt winger as the Hammers look to continue their summer business, but Calciomercato report that Juventus are now interested in Kostic.
It’s claimed that West Ham have been in contact with the player’s camp and it’s been agreed that a move will not take place.
Patino set for Blackpool move
Arsenal youngster Charlie Patino is set to join Blackpool on loan.
The 18-year-old midfielder is tipped for a big future at Emirates Stadium and Arsenal believe a season in the Championship is the right move for his development.
Patino made his Arsenal debut last season when he came off the bench to score in a 5-1 win over Sunderland in the Carabao Cup in December.
Erik ten Hag slams ‘unacceptable’ Ronaldo
Erik ten Hag has hit out at Cristiano Ronaldo and other Manchester United players who left a pre-season friendly early.
Ronaldo made his first appearance of the summer over the weekend, starting the 1-1 draw with Rayo Vallecano before he was replaced at half-time.
The 37-year-old was pictured leaving Old Trafford before the end of the match, along with Diogo Dalot, and that inevitably led to further talk on his desire to secure a move away from the club.
Ten Hag said: “I certainly don’t condone this. This is unacceptable. For everyone. We are a team and you have to stay until the end.”
Arsenal ‘expected’ to make Tielemans move
Arsenal could be set to finally make an offical bid for Youri Tielemans.
The Gunners have been linked with the Leicester midfielder for much of the summer, but the Guardian report the Foxes are now expecting an offer to come in soon.
With Tielemans entering the final year of his contract, and Leicester unwilling to sell the likes of Wesley Fofana and James Maddison, Arsenal appear to have a strong chance of landing Tielemans.
Henderson slams Man United treatment
Dean Henderson has hit out at his treatment by Manchester United, after joining Nottingham Forest on loan.
“The conversation I had coming out of the Euros squad was ‘You’re coming back here to be the number one’,” he told talkSport.
“I got Covid-19, came back, so I should have still been the number one but then nobody followed through with what they had told me.
“It was frustrating, because I turned down so many good loans last summer for that reason, and they would not let me go. To sit there for 12 months, it is criminal really, at my age, I was fuming.
“I told the hierarchy that I need to be playing football and to let me go, and I was almost gone before the manager (Erik ten Hag) came through the door. I have not spoken to him since.”
